Developing Project


Proposal For Development Project and Upgrading the Infrastructure on Railway Land

Proposals for development projects on railway land should be reviewed from the technical aspects and cost-benefit analysis before it can be implemented. Proper planning will benefit the public and the Government / RAC itself. Proposals for development projects must be based on good/high investment returns to the Government/ RAC.

Return on Investment

Planning of development projects should be based on its positive returns on investment to RAC as follows :

  • Cash return
  • In Kind return
  • In Kind and  cash return's
  • Build, Operate and Transfer through concession agreement

Development Proposals By Private Companies

RAC has received various proposals for development on railway reserved and titled land from private companies. Initially, the proposals will be reviewed by RAC before being scrutinised further by the Ministry of Transport, Public Private Partnership Division (PPPD), SPAD, KTMB and other relevant Government departments and agencies until it is taken to the attention of the minister and Cabinet for consideration and approval.

Upgrading the Railway Infrastructure's Project

Upgrading public transport's facilities which involve the rail sector are being actively implemented as upgrading the follows:

  1. Ipoh-Padang Besar Electric Double- Tracking Project
  2. Seremban-Gemas Electric Double-Tracking Project
  3. Gemas – Johor Bahru Electric Double- Tracking Project
  4. Railway Tracks Strengthening Project
  5. Railway Bridges Strengthening Project 
  6.  Rebuilding and Upgrading of Bahau  Railway Station
  7. National Key Result Area (NKRA) Projects under Pelan National Tranformation Plan (NTP) Phase (2) that is building and upgrade Park n Ride facilities at commuter  stations in the Klang Valley )
