PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT

 

Following are common questions for the RAC's Real Estate Development Department.

What is the potential of the undeveloped railway land?

Railway lands that are still undeveloped consists of pocket land, surplus land and reserve land in which those lands are potential of development due to:

  1. Railway lands are located in strategic locations that is near to the commuter stations, LRT and monorail, urban areas, ports and others where it is the focus of the public due to efficient and economic public transport will attract the surroundry area.
  2. Proposals of development on the reserved land should be in the concept of 'railway' in which the proposal should involve the development of commuter station or integration of the station (commuter, LRT-PUTRA, STAR-LRT or Monorail) to meet the land use.

What process should be followed for the approval of the proposed development?

The proposed development will be assessed by the Railway Assets Corporation Development Committee before being brought to the Board of Directors of RAC to obtain the views / comments. Once the RAC Board agrees, development proposals will be submitted to the Ministry of Transport for the preparation of Cabinet papers to obtaine the consideration.
